Boomwing
One pack, any armour, real flight. The Boomwing Rig sits in your accessory slot and carries a whole flight system: wing membranes that snap open in the air, a main jet, and thrusters on your palms and boots that fire with it. It comes with a black flight bodysuit that replaces your bare skin and underwear (armour goes over it like normal). It's the flight from Ranasaurus, standalone, no companion needed.
Fly how you want. Glide and bank, rocket with an afterburner, hover hands-free, corkscrew, bullet-dive past top speed and flare to a stop. Hold the bullet pose low and you skim along the ground or water, over hills and waves, and pull up straight back into flight. Tap the stick sideways to dodge: the faster you fly the bigger the sidestep, and taps chain into a slalom.
Break the sound barrier. Click while thrusting for a sonic boom: a shockwave, a thunderclap everyone nearby hears, a vapour cloud you punch out of, and a boost. Boom again every 3 seconds while you hold thrust, or let go and re-press to chain them. The FOV and the wind build with your speed, and cliffs and trees you scrape past whoosh by.
Launch and land. On the ground, tap to throw your wings out and take off, or hold to sprint (faster than Tek) and let go to launch. From the air, dive onto enemies for a ground-strike shockwave with no fall damage; its lightning takes your flame colour.
Make it yours. Pick flame colours (Dark Puddle, Rocket, Plasma, Ice, Toxic, Solar, Classic), wing colours, and 7 colours of smoke trails from your own radial menu. Everyone sees them, and your picks are remembered.
Boomwing Wind Helmet. Flak-grade armour with a sealed filter against toxic gas that never wears down and never breathes in your ear. With the Rig on, its visor, wing-fins and DP badge glow in your wing colour.
Controller-first, tested on Xbox · works in multiplayer · wings open = auto third person (toggle on your radial)
Crafting
- Rocket Fuel (lvl 20): 25 Sparkpowder + 5 Oil at a Mortar and Pestle or Chemistry Bench. 1 fuel = 30 s of thrust.
- Boomwing Rig (lvl 20): 50 Metal Ingot, 25 Crystal, 100 Hide, 5 Rocket Fuel, 20 Cementing Paste at a Smithy.
- Boomwing Wind Helmet (lvl 20): 20 Metal Ingot, 10 Crystal, 15 Hide, 5 Chitin at a Smithy.

Note: the Rig does not work under a Tek chestpiece (vanilla Tek blocks the wings). Wearing the other four Tek pieces with the Rig still gives the full Tek suit bonus.
