Black Labs Adjustments: Direbear
This Direbear TLC mod incorporates quality of life changes and balance adjustments to bring it into par with modern ASA. This mod focuses it toward a tanky cave explorer and honey specialist.
Changes:
1.) Increased Base Health. Bears should be beefy!
2.) Dramatically increased spoil timer for honey. Retains vanilla ability to harvest extra honey.
3.) Removed vanilla charged run and tweaked walk and run speeds.
4.) Added a small jump with original animation, enough to hop over small gaps in caves.
5.) Fixed the vanilla's strangely oversized collider. They can now fit better in narrow cave passages.
6.) The old bee buff has been reworked into Bear Immunity, with a new icon. Riding the direbear will give you a little hypothermal insulation, immunity to being dismounted, and immunity to bees.
7.) Honeyguard - a new custom ability. Use your x-key (on keyboard) to have the bear consume a jar of honey in its inventory. The bear will gain the Honeyguard buff for 60 seconds, gaining 35% damage reduction. Custom indicator.
This mod replaces the spawns of vanilla direbears with BLA direbears. BLA bears can mate with vanilla.
Black Labs mods are intended to feel seamless with Vanilla. They are not meant to drive anything into overpowered territory, just bring less functional or aging tames up to par. Balance changes are always a matter of taste - Black Labs balances with respect to PVE play.
