Bobs Unstacking Mod

Convert eligible stacking-mod resources back to vanilla items and recover excess from oversized stacks with Bob’s Shoreline Salvage. Collect recovered resources from Salvage Crates or send them to matching Tek Dedicated Storage.

Currently in beta — use at your own risk Back up all server save files before using this mod

Once I can get an update cooked, I will add the engram I forgot. The spawn command is:

cheat GiveItem "Blueprint'/Bobs_Item_Convertor/Items/PrimalItemStructure_BIC_ScannerBoard.PrimalItemStructure_BIC_ScannerBoard'" 1 0 0

I’m looking for testers to try this mod with different stacking mods. If you find any issues, please let me know which stacking mod you’re using and what happened. Your feedback will help improve compatibility! If it causes a lot of lag let me know that as well. I have tested this with a few different stacking mods and different mods that have non-vanilla storage containers, but I can't test every combination, so feedback is greatly appreciated

This mod is designed to recover eligible resources from stacking mods while preserving their quantities. It offers two configurable options:

Resource conversion: Finds eligible resources from stacking mods and converts them back to their original vanilla equivalents.

Oversized-stack recovery: Finds stacks above your server’s current stack limit and recovers the excess, leaving the allowed amount in the original inventory. This option keeps the existing item type.

You can use either option on its own or enable both together.

Recovered resources are accessible through Bob’s Shoreline Salvage, the craftable recovery billboard. Select a resource in its inventory to open the associated Salvage Crate, then withdraw what you need. Converted resources return as vanilla items, and withdrawals use the stack sizes for your server.

You can also send recovered resources to matching Tek Dedicated Storage boxes that already contain the same resource.

Getting started

Shut down your server and back up all server save files.

Add this mod to your server’s mod list and configure your existing stacking mod as a Passive Mod. Keep the stacking mod installed while recovery is in progress. Save your startup configuration and restart the server.

Craft and place Bob’s Shoreline Salvage.

Open Settings from its radial menu and choose which recovery options to enable.

Open its inventory and select Recover.

Let the scan finish. Larger inventories may take some time.

Select a recovered resource to open its Salvage Crate, then withdraw it or send it to matching Tek Dedicated Storage.

Recovery checks eligible inventories belonging to the billboard’s owner or tribe, including storage and dinos. Each tribe needs its own Bob’s Shoreline Salvage billboard.

After recovery

Before removing your original stacking mod, confirm that all resources you want to keep have been converted to vanilla items and that no remaining items or structures depend on that mod. Anything that still depends on the original stacking mod may be lost when you remove it.

Remember that oversized-stack recovery alone does not convert modded item types. A completed scan does not necessarily mean the original stacking mod is ready to be removed.

You can leave the original stacking mod configured as a Passive Mod while you finish checking everyone’s inventories. Passive mods keep their data available while disabling their active functionality.

Once recovery is complete and you have collected everything from all of Bob’s Shoreline Salvage billboards and their Salvage Crates, you can remove this recovery mod as well. Shut down the server and make a fresh backup before removing either mod.

Thanks for helping test the mod! When reporting an issue, please include your stacking mod’s name, the affected resource, and its quantity before and after recovery.
