Easily convert any creature into another creature, just by releasing them from a cryopod. INI configurable settings make it easy to define what creature you would like to convert to a different creature. All stats and info related to the converted creature are carried over to the new creature.
How is this helpful?
If your server plans to remove a modded dino, and you don't want players to be at a complete loss, you can specify the modded dino be converted to any other dino of your choosing just by being released from cryo. Another situation could be that you want to make sure that any illegal (unobtainable) dinos are automatically converted to a specific dino of your choosing. There are many reasons as to why you may want to convert one creature into another, and this mod makes that process easy.
How do I configure this via INI?
There are 3 important things you need to specify in INI settings for this mod.
- The amount of entries for converting a dino
- The ConvertFrom entries
- The ConvertTo entries
Here is an example of what the INI might look like:
[CreatureConverter]
EnableVerboseLogging=True
ConversionEntriesNumber=5
CreatureToConvertFrom1=/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Dodo/Dodo_Character_BP.Dodo_Character_BP,/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Dodo/Dodo_Character_BP_Aberrant.Dodo_Character_BP_Aberrant
CreatureToConvertFrom2=/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Carcharodontosaurus/Carcha_Character_BP.Carcha_Character_BP
CreatureToConvertFrom3=/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Trike/BionicTrike_Character_BP.BionicTrike_Character_BP,/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Stego/BionicStego_Character_BP.BionicStego_Character_BP,/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Rex/BionicRex_Character_BP.BionicRex_Character_BP,/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Raptor/BionicRaptor_Character_BP.BionicRaptor_Character_BP,/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Quetzalcoatlus/BionicQuetz_Character_BP.BionicQuetz_Character_BP,/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Para/BionicPara_Character_BP.BionicPara_Character_BP,/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Giganotosaurus/BionicGigant_Character_BP.BionicGigant_Character_BP
CreatureToConvertFrom4=/Game/ASA/Dinos/Cat/Cat_Character_BP.Cat_Character_BP,/Game/Packs/TidesOfFortune/Dinos/Axolotl/Axolotl_Small/Axolotl_Small_Character_BP.Axolotl_Small_Character_BP
CreatureToConvertFrom5=/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Salmon/Salmon_Character_BP.Salmon_Character_BP
CreatureToConvertTo1=/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Dodo/ZombieDodo_Character_BP.ZombieDodo_Character_BP
CreatureToConvertTo2=/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Giganotosaurus/BionicGigant_Character_BP.BionicGigant_Character_BP
CreatureToConvertTo3=/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Compy/Compy_Character_BP.Compy_Character_BP
CreatureToConvertTo4=/Game/Packs/TidesOfFortune/Dinos/Axolotl/Axolotl_Large/Axolotl_Large_Character_BP.Axolotl_Large_Character_BP
CreatureToConvertTo5=/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Coelacanth/Coel_Character_BP.Coel_Character_BP
This example creates the following scenario:
There are 5 specified entries, which means that the mod will look for INI entries CreatureToConvertFrom1, CreatureToConvertFrom2, CreatureToConvertFrom3, CreatureToConvertFrom4, and CreatureToConvertFrom5 for dino classes specified. This is the check for what creature is being converted upon release from cryo. It then checks the corresponding CreatureToConvertTo entry based on the number and converts that creature into the specified dino class for that number. Based on the above example whenever a Dodo is released from cryo it will be automatically converted into a Zombie Dodo. This is specified by the CreatureToConvertFrom1 and CreatureToConvertTo1 settings. If you look at CreatureToConvertFrom5 and CreatureToConvertTo5 this would convert any released Sabertooth Salmon into a Coelacanth for example.
Here is an in-depth explanation of each INI setting:
- ConversionEntriesNumber - You are able to have any number of entries defined by ConversionEntriesNumber. There is no limit. But you likely wouldn't need an absurd amount anyways. This defines the amount of CreatureToConvertFrom and CreatureToConvertTo entries that will be read from the INI by the mod.
- CreatureToConvertFrom(number) - Depending on the amount of entries specified by ConversionEntriesNumber you need to make that amount of entries for this setting. So if you set ConversionEntriesNumber=5 you need to set CreatureToConvertFrom1, CreatureToConvertFrom2, CreatureToConvertFrom3, CreatureToConvertFrom4, and CreatureToConvertFrom5. What you set here is a comma-separated entry of dino classes. These are obtained from the creature's blueprint. Using the Dodo as an example, its blueprint entry is "Blueprint'/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Dodo/Dodo_Character_BP.Dodo_Character_BP'" so for this you will remove everything else so it is just
/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Dodo/Dodo_Character_BP.Dodo_Character_BP - CreatureToConvertTo(number) - This is the same as the CreatureToConvertFrom INI entry, but is not a comma-separated value. You will just want to specify 1 dino class here to be converted to. Just like the CreatureToConvertFrom entry, if you have ConversionEntriesNumber=5 you need to specify CreatureToConvertTo1, CreatureToConvertTo2, CreatureToConvertTo3, CreatureToConvertTo4, and CreatureToConvertTo5.
- EnableVerboseLogging - True or False setting. This will enable logs that go to the server game log that notify when a player converts a creature, what is converted, etc.
Mod Compatibility
This mod is compatible with any cryo mod that calls the OnPostUnCryoDino event. Just a few confirmed popular mods: Dino Depot and Pelayori's Cryo Storage. If the cryo mod that you use is incompatible then feel free to let me know. I can try to work with the mod creator on compatibility.
