Its no secret that the Island map lacks even the most basic prior-DLC resources. The Island now has Silk as a drop from the TLC Araneo, and there are some mods that add Sulfur to the Volcano, but less common are Raw Salt or Sand added to the Island. Better Minerals solves these issues by leveraging existing resources and processing them in existing stations to give players access to these resources on maps that are missing these minerals (like The Island).
Raw Salt
Default craftable item in the Primitive Cooking Pot and Industrial Cooker. Simply put any filled water container in (or irrigate an Ind. Cooker) to craft. It may be a good idea to disable auto-crafting in the menu on your Cooking Pot/Ind. Cooker as it will continue to convert all water into salt.
Sand & Silicate
Players with access to the Industrial Grinder can now grind Crystal ("Quartz") into Sand ("Silicon Dioxide") and then refine into Silicate (alternative to Silica Pearls) in the Forge/Industrial Forge.
"Cool, but what if my map doesn't have Sulfur?
