While studying reconstructed prehistoric genomes, Dr. Robert Hale discovered evidence of a mysterious biological anomaly hidden within the genetic record.
His research led to the creation of Hale's Miasma, an artificial substance capable of transforming living creatures into Blighted variants.
Now, survivors must continue Robert Hale's research to uncover the secrets of the Blight.
