Vorath: Aquadomes
Transform the ocean floor into your new home long before Tek technology becomes available. Vorath: Aquadomes adds a complete early-to-mid game underwater living system to ARK: Survival Ascended. Discover a powerful new deep-sea predator, tame it with a specialized net, extract a rare parasite, and grow massive breathable air bubbles known as Aquadomes. This guide explains the easiest and most effective way to use every part of the mod.
Shocking Net Projectile
The Shocking Net Projectile unlocks at level 48 and is fired from the base-game Harpoon Launcher. It is the only tool capable of taming a Vorath. Load the net into your Harpoon Launcher, locate a wild Vorath, and fire to trap and stun the creature. While the Vorath remains stunned, quickly hand-feed it raw fish meat, raw prime fish meat, or ammonite bile. Continue this process until the taming bar is complete. Tranquilizer arrows and tranquilizer spear bolts apply no torpor whatsoever to the Vorath due to its heavy armor. The Shocking Net and feeding while stunned is the exclusive method for taming.
Vorath Wild
Vorath spawn throughout ocean biomes and are commonly found near Anglerfish. This ferocious armored predator is roughly the size of an anglerfish and possesses heavy scales that protect it from conventional tranquilizers. Its powerful bite delivers significant torpor, making it a dangerous encounter for unprepared survivors. Each wild Vorath has a 20% chance to host a Depthclinger Parasite Larvae. The only reliable way to tame a Vorath is with the Shocking Net Projectile followed by feeding while it is stunned. Conventional weapons and tranquilizers are completely ineffective for taming.
Vorath Tamed
Once tamed, a Vorath becomes a versatile underwater companion that can be ridden without a saddle. While mounted, the Vorath provides special protection that prevents jellyfish from dismounting the rider, making it an excellent mount for safely harvesting bio toxin. When a Vorath is killed and harvested it yields both fish meat and bio toxin. Tamed Vorath can also be assigned to a Patrol Post for automated defense of your underwater areas.
Patrol Post
Craft and place the Patrol Post in the area you wish to protect. Hold the interaction button to open its radial menu. From this menu you can assign all nearby Vorath to the post, toggle them into Patrol Mode, or call all assigned Vorath back to the post. You can also unassign every Vorath at once from the Patrol Post menu, or unassign individual Vorath through their own radial menu. When set to Patrol Mode, each Vorath will swim to a random location inside the post’s spherical boundary, wait a few seconds, then move to another random point. This continues until an enemy enters the radius. At that moment all assigned Vorath will attack the threat and return to patrolling once the fight is over.
Depthclinger Parasite
The Depthclinger Parasite Larvae is a rare alien organism found inside some Vorath. After taming a Vorath, use the Inspect option on its radial menu. If the parasite is present the option changes to Sacrifice. Sacrificing the Vorath places the Depthclinger Parasite Larvae directly into your inventory. This larvae is the essential ingredient required to grow an Aquadome.
Parasitic Catalyzer Growth Stages
The Parasitic Catalyzer must be placed on relatively flat ground with no nearby structures. It also cannot be placed too close to an enemy Catalyzer or Aquadome, and the game will prevent placement if a resulting Large Aquadome would overlap with another Large Aquadome belonging to your tribe. Once placed the Catalyzer can take damage, but after activation all incoming damage is transferred to the Depthclinger growing inside it. To activate the Catalyzer insert one Depthclinger Parasite Larvae along with raw fish meat, raw prime fish meat, or ammonite bile as fuel. Warning: once activated, if the Catalyzer ever runs completely out of fuel it will destroy itself.
Growth consists of five stages, and each stage has two parts. In the first part the Depthclinger requests a catalyst item that speeds up the process and restores a small amount of health. You have a five-minute window to deliver the item by simply having it in your inventory and pressing the action button. Missing this window causes no penalty. Shortly afterward a dino wave becomes available. You again have a five-minute window to start the wave. If you fail to start it, the Depthclinger loses 100 health every 30 seconds until the wave begins. Defeat the wave to complete the stage and advance. Repeat this process for all five stages. At the end of the fifth stage the health of the Depthclinger determines the size of the finished Aquadome. Green health (above 90%) produces a Large Aquadome, orange health (75% to 90%) produces a Medium Aquadome, and red health (below 75%) produces a Small Aquadome.
In Creative Mode, the growth process can be skipped by accessing the radial wheel and selecting "Creative Only Spawn Aquadome". However, if there is no fuel in the catalyzer when you select this option, the catalyzer will just disappear.
Parasitic Catalyzer as an Aquadome
Once the Aquadome is created the Catalyzer remains as the home for the matured parasite. You must continue supplying raw fish meat, raw prime fish meat, or ammonite bile to keep the Catalyzer fueled. If the Catalyzer runs out of fuel or is destroyed, the Aquadome is destroyed along with it. Inside the Aquadome only water tames cannot be released from cryopods. Flyers cannot be ridden at all while inside the bubble. Wild creatures are blocked at a short distance from the edge of the Aquadome so they cannot mesh-bite through the barrier. The Aquadome prevents water creatures from crossing into it, but it does not stop enemy players, so in PvP you must still defend your Catalyzer. Aquadomes cannot overlap with one another.
Vorath: Aquadomes opens the ocean floor for true early-game colonization. Tame the predator, claim the parasite, grow your Aquadomes, and build your future beneath the waves.

This mod has been bouncing around in the back of my head ever since I started creating mods, back when ASA first released. Thank you Shinygati for helping me bring this vision to life.
Also, I'd like to give a special thanks to Sandi for hosting the Modjam2026 that helped light the spark to push me to want to finally create this mod. Thank you Wolfofthenyght and Queen_Crysta for helping us get through some of the pains of making custom creatures. Thank you to everyone else who helped along the way, from just letting me ramble on about the mod to you, to helping during the playtest and finding every bug...looking at you GamerDad!
