Primal Sense

A progression-based creature tracking tool that helps players search for dinos by name and level range without giving exact final positions.

Primal Sense is a progression-based creature tracking mod for ARK: Survival Ascended.

Instead of giving players an instant cheat-style exact location, Primal Sense works more like a survival tracking skill. You craft the Primal Sense item, use it to unlock the tracker, and then improve your tracking ability over time.

The tracker lets you search for creatures by dino name and level range, but it is designed to still require exploration. When you get close to the target creature, the distance display stops giving exact precision and only shows that the creature is within 25 meters. From there, you still need to look around, follow the terrain, and actually find it yourself.

As your Primal Sense level increases, your scan radius and tracking usefulness improve. Early levels are limited and are mainly helpful for narrowing down possible areas. Higher levels allow wider searches and better tracking support, making the system feel like a player skill instead of a simple admin finder.

How it works:

  • Craft the Primal Sense item with 1 Mejoberry.
  • Use the item to access Primal Sense.
  • Press F2 to open the search menu.
  • Search by creature name.
  • Set the level range you want.
  • Scan for matching creatures.
  • Level up your tracking ability to increase scan range and improve usefulness.

Main features:

  • Craftable Primal Sense item
  • Costs 1 Mejoberry
  • F2 search menu
  • Search creatures by name
  • Filter by level range
  • Progression-based scan radius
  • Tracking improves as you level it
  • Close-range distance is limited to 25m instead of exact pinpointing
  • Designed for survival gameplay, taming, exploration, and server progression

Primal Sense is meant to help players find creatures without removing the hunt. It gives direction and useful information, but it does not replace scouting, traveling, terrain awareness, or actually spotting the creature yourself.
