Mod ID: 1167541
Curiosity
While a random look feature now exists in vanilla as of the 5.5 upgrade (inspired by this very mod!), Curiosity will remain as a light expansion to it, replacing the existing system for those who may prefer this one. Unmounted creatures look around and focus upon nearby points of their interest, be it staring off into the woods, looking at a structure, or acknowledging another nearby creature. Additionally, creatures following a target will actively look towards whatever it is they are following. To disable the mod’s effects on a tamed dino, simply turn off Ally Looking.

ScanRange: Units around each player the mod will scan for dinos. Default: 150 meters
ScanInterval: Time in seconds which the mod will scan for new dinos to add the buff to.
ExceptionList: Seperated by commas (,), list any dinos you do not want to be affected. Supports the below formats and will automatically detect them. Full blueprint paths are not yet supported, but will come in the future.
- NameOfBlueprint_C
- DinoNameTag (see: https://ark.wiki.gg/wiki/Creature_IDs)
I've included some default dino tags, including fish (as they are high-population and usually small), Meks, and creatures which wouldn't benefit from the mod (those being jellyfish, leeches, the swarm-type creatures, and Summoners). Hopefully, this should lighten any potential load on servers, though feel free to remove any that you wish.
ExceptionListMode: By default, ExceptionList will exclude the listed dinos from Curiosity. If set to True, the mod will instead apply the buff to em>onlyem> those dinos.
FlyingSwimmingLookMultiplier: (0.0-1.0) The amount to which flying, amphibious, or aquatic creatures will be affected by Curiosity's look system while moving forwards whilst flying or swimming. Default: 20% of Curiosity's look rotation.
StopAllyLookingAfterTime: Time in seconds after which an ally looking dino will disengage from looking at you and go back to their current look target.
LookFrequency: (0.0-1.0) Chance for a creature to change its current focus at each look interval. Default: 75% chance.
LookIntervalMin: Minimum time in seconds to attempt rerolling look target.
LookIntervalMax: Maximum time in seconds to attempt rerolling look target.
AllowKillBroadcast: Enables or disables the chance for creatures to look at a target that has just killed something or been killed.

Notes for Modders
- To easily prevent a dino from ever receiving the Curiosity buff for compatibility reasons, add “Curiosity” to its PreventBuffClassesWithTag array.
- If your dino uses BPModifyAimOffsetNoTarget, please let me know if it breaks; I’d like to know if I should be implementing a general futureproofing check for this.
- AllowKillBroadcast uses the same random chance variables as the vanilla system. If you have altered them for your modded dinos, Curiosity will reflect that.
