Mod Summary/Vision:
Experience a Premium Level Mod, that is completely free! Jurassic Awakening is an ambitious overhaul for ARK Survival Ascended, creating a world of ominous realism. From stronger behemoths to fun new companions, the mod breathes new life to Your ARK Adventure. The mod introduces sophisticated custom AI and behaviors, bringing to life the pack and herd mentalities of these ancient creatures. We want you to feel immersed in a realistic Jurassic experience, while also giving you a massive scale of new content to explore!

Current Feature List:

  • Dinos increase in level and as you travel from Southeast beaches to the Northwest snow
  • New dino behaviors and AI to create realism and unique encounters
  • New herd spawning, following, hunting, and defending mechanics
  • Hundreds of dino variants…ranging from DLC dinos that have been rebalanced, to popular dinos that can spawn as special variants with unique stats
  • Loot variety mechanics, including weapons, armor, and saddles being able to drop with special stats and properties. Rebalanced dino and supply drop loot tables
  • Rebalanced the durability and armor system. Armor no longer instantly breaks during your first battle
  • Deep player progression system
The leveling rate is slowed down, with 3x as many items, weapons, armor, structures, saddles, and new dino encounters per level, and you get nearly 3x the stat pts per level.
We were deciding whether or not to make the max player level 450, but instead went with packing 3x as much content in per level, but slowing the leveling rate to 1/3rd. This allows the player to really enjoy all the new content that's been added to each stage of the game!

Important Notes / Installation:

Please start a new game to play this mod. It is not compatible with old game settings. To create a new singleplayer game, simply go into your steam folder and backup your current map folders. Then you can safely delete your save games in-game and create a new world to enjoy the full experience of this mod! This is a massive scale overhaul mod. It is not intended for use with other mods. There are some which will be compatible, but as mentioned, this is intended to be a standalone Challenging game overhaul. This mod is intended to be a consistent experience for all players. It requires very specific game settings to play properly. And for these reasons, we automatically override your singleplayer and multiplayer game settings with the mod's own game settings. You do not have to set any special server settings for this mod. (Server owners can set Stack size to "2" to avoid any potential Multiplayer Issues) Simply leave your settings at something somewhat normal, and the mod will automatically adjust your world to give you the Jurassic Awakening experience Flyers: Yes, there are tameable flyers in this mod. However, they are rare spawns until you venture into the difficult areas. We want players to enjoy their journey and experience the maps WildCard published This mod is intended to be a challenge! The content will provide scaling difficulty and will give you a challenge that levels with you as you progress.

Changing Settings in Jurassic Awakening:


Yes, Jurassic Awakening is a challenging mod, and intended to be so!
However, we have provided two additional features that allow some adjustment within the mod.

Singleplayer adjustment::

The mod will automatically detect if you are on singleplayer and will adjust several of the settings to specifically cater to the flow and time limitations of singleplayer.

Settings Panel:

  • There is a Settings panel available within the mod! Server administrators and singleplayer games can adjust the mod between Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty. And inside of the setting panel, it will show you all of the rates and changes that are made to the game when changing difficulties.
  • Yes, Easy does have a little higher harvest rates, xp gain, etc. The mod will still be very challenging, but these aspects will be a little easier. Note that when changing difficulties, it also affects the game loot and how often the rare items can be found. Normal difficulty is the recommended experience.

How to Access the Settings Panel:

  • For server admins and for singleplayer, simply open your inventory. On the righthand side of the screen, there is a blue icon that will open the Settings page. If for some reason your admin access is not showing, you can always suicide by consuming the Ark implant inside of your inventory. Upon respawning, the blue gear icon will be showing in your inventory.
  • NOTE: The Blue Lock Icon,  is for our Early Access supporters, they have access to the newest features that we believe still need a bit of real world testing before we set them as Live.  See the discord if you want to Join!
