JVH Landscaping

JVH Landscaping is a simple landscaping and garden decor mod including from-in-game trees, bushes and stones

Cross-Platform compatible

Current Version: 2.0

JVH Landscaping started life as a lightweight mod that exposed a number of the in-game tree and bush/plant assets as craftable garden decor items as well as some small and larger rocks. It has since evolved to include water foliage and crystals/mushrooms. The leafy structures can all be placed on saddle platforms, but will shake and shudder when in motion (globally disabling foliage interaction in your client settings will fix). If you want versions of some (but not all) of these items that do not do that, please see the JVH Platform Plants mod (https://www.curseforge.com/ark-survival-ascended/mods/jvh-platform-plants).

NOTE: This mod is designed to work on the maps that have assets included here (Island, Scorched, Aberration, Extinction) Due to its dependency on assets in the maps/live game, modded maps may do things with base materials and other things that can break this mod or cause other strange behaviors to occur with those maps--so use at own risk on anything but Wildcard maps.

For additional garden decor using unique meshes and materials, check out our sister mod: (https://www.curseforge.com/ark-survival-ascended/mods/jvh-garden-decor)

When the mod reaches 2.0 we will consider it mostly complete--that release should include some Extinction assets, Ragnarok assets and a few other additions. Once complete content-wise, we'll focus more on adding features and optimizing. This hopefully means more snap points for ivy and other wall-based plants as well as moving a few items to instanced meshes to help with some performance where it makes sense.

Features

  • Many bio-luminescent plants and crystals can have their color changed
  • Can increase/decrease size on many pieces
  • Basic ini settings to assist with performance/abuse on shared servers
  • Snap points for vines and wall plants
  • Simple tool to adjust location post-placement

The mod includes the following from The Island map assets:

  • 28 Trees
  • 17 Bushes
  • 14 Ground Cover Items (Grasses/Flowers)
  • 10 Small Rocks
  • 11 Larger Rocks
  • 9 Huge Rocks
  • 22 Aquatic Items (Coral/Seaweed)
  • 10 Freshwater Plants (cattails/lilies)
  • 15 BioLume Plants
  • 14 Mushrooms
  • 11 Crystals
  • 13 Vines and climbing plants (with basic snapping)
  • 2 Modded Tree platforms for use with mod Redwoods

from Scorched Earth map assets:

  • 8 Trees
  • 12 Plants
  • 13 Cacti
  • 14 Crystals
  • 14 Misc items

from Aberration map assets:

  • 15 Trees
  • 4 Luminescent Trees
  • 5 Ground mushrooms
  • 15 Plants
  • 12 Crystals

from Extinction map assets:

  • 12 Trees
  • 4 Grasses/Flowers
  • 7 Plants
  • 10 Vines

from Ragnarok map assets:

  • 4 Trees
  • 5 Plants
  • 7 Vines
  • 12 Rocks

Misc:

  • Crop plots modded to block clutter/grass
  • Tweak Tool

The Tweak tool is very basic. It will allow you to move and rotate placed structures on the x, y and z axis to a very limited degree (about a single foundation in any direction). You can only adjust structures you have placed, no matter the tribe arrangement. I may implement an ini to allow tribe permission. It will check for enemy foundations before allowing the move. Currently the scale option does not survive a server restart. I may remove scaling or I may fix depending on the reception of the tool. This is a beta feature, so ymmv, feel free to hide the engram if not interested. DO NOT USE ON STRUCTURES PLACED ON PLATFORMS. I will be preventing it programmatically in the next update, but it will bug your structure if you try it now.

ENGRAMS

Engrams are in place for a number of the "special" categories to allow for admin management of the engram visibility, level and points for each of them.

OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="PrimalEngram_HugeTrees_JVHLandscaping_C",EngramHidden=False,EngramPointsCost=25,EngramLevelRequirement=20,RemoveEngramPreReq=True)

or to simply hide the Redwoods:
OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="PrimalEngram_HugeTrees_JVHLandscaping_C",EngramHidden=true)
