#PvPvE Hybrid TEST VERSION! Doesnt work yet
PvP and PvE on the same server – every survivor chooses their side
PvPvE Hybrid lets PvP and PvE players share one server (or a whole cluster). Every survivor picks a mode once. PvP players fight each other like in normal ARK, while PvE players, their tames and their bases are fully protected.
How it works
- Choose your side: When you join for the first time, a window asks you to choose PvE (Peaceful) or PvP (Combat). You must confirm your choice, and you cannot change it yourself afterwards. Only an admin can switch you.
- Existing servers: If the mod is added to a running server, every existing character is asked once.
- Cluster-wide: Your mode is saved on your character and stays the same on every server of the cluster.
- Red and green tags: A red PvP or green PvE tag is shown above other players. You don’t see it above yourself or your tribe members. Each player can hide the tags for themselves: hold R (your own action wheel), open the folder with the PvP/PvE shield and choose PvP/PvE tags on/off. The same entry is also in the E wheel of your own tames and tribe members. The setting is saved on your PC and applies on every server.
- Scout before you raid: Look at another player’s structure or tame through a Spyglass or Electronic Binoculars to see PvP - can be raided (red) or PvE - protected (green).
-Bases stay in play: Each map remembers which owners are PvP or PvE, so a PvP base can still be raided while its owner is on another map, and a PvE base stays protected.
The window works with mouse, keyboard and controller.
Rules
PvE players
- Cannot be harmed by other players, tames, turrets or traps.
- Cannot harm other players or their property.
- Their tames and structures are protected in the same way.
PvP players
- Play like normal ARK against other PvP players: raiding, killing, taming knocked-out players and so on.
Between PvP and PvE
- No damage in either direction.
- No knock-out tools (tranqs, bolas, nets), no carrying, no looting.
- No doors or storage access.
Everyone
- Wild dinos are dangerous for everyone.
Tribes
- PvP and PvE players cannot be in the same tribe. Recruiting across modes is blocked.
- Members of the same tribe can still carry each other, also in PvE.
The mod only blocks actions. It never grants extra rights: a locked PvP door stays locked for other PvP players, just like in normal ARK.
Admin Tablet – how admins get access
Admins manage players with the PvPvE Admin Tablet.
- Log in as admin on the server, for example with the console command: `enablecheats YourAdminPassword
- Give yourself the tablet with this console command:
cheat GiveItem "Blueprint'/PvPvEHybrid/Items/PrimalItem_PvPvEAdminTablet.PrimalItem_PvPvEAdminTablet'" 1 0 0 - Use the tablet from your inventory (hover over it and press the use key, default E). The admin panel opens. You also can open the admin panel with holding R
The panel lists all online players with their mode and tribe ID:
- Player → PvE / Player → PvP switches a single player. The player is also removed from their tribe, keeps only their inventory and gets an on-screen message.
- Tribe → PvE / Tribe → PvP switches the whole tribe, including all members, tames and structures.
- PvP/PvE alliances: Allow mixed / Block mixed decides whether PvP and PvE tribes may be allied. If you block them, existing mixed alliances are dissolved within seconds. The setting is saved per map and is allowed by default, so set it on every map of your cluster.
- Cave building & Cryotimer: both can be toggeld on/off for each
The tablet only works for admins. If a non-admin uses it, nothing happens, and every change is checked again on the server. The tablet is not consumed, so you can keep it in your inventory.
The panel works with mouse, keyboard and controller: move between the buttons with the D-pad, the left stick or the arrow keys, press A or Enter to use the selected button, and close the panel with B or Escape.
Installation
Add the mod to every server of your cluster and restart the servers. No configuration is needed.
Notes
- Players who have not chosen a mode yet are protected like PvE players and cannot harm anyone.
- A structure or tame whose owner has never been on the current map with a chosen mode counts as protected.
The alliance block identifies tribes by name, so please avoid identical tribe names.
