ORP - Offline Raid Protection
Server-side PvP mod. No new items, no map changes, works on every map. Nothing for players to install or learn.
Tired of logging in to a wiped base because someone raided you at 4 AM? ORP makes an OFFLINE tribe's base a bad target while online tribes still fight normally. It does not make bases invulnerable - it makes attacking an empty base expensive and noisy, so raiders go find someone who is actually home.
What it does
When every member of a tribe has been offline for 30 minutes, that tribe becomes protected:
- Auto, Heavy and Tek turrets deal 3x damage (TurretDamageMultiplier)
- Structures take 1/3 damage (StructureDamageTakenMultiplier)
- Structures inside caves get an extra multiplier, so cave-camping stays honest (CaveStructureDamageMultiplier)
- Tames take half damage from player weapons: snipers, compound bows, rockets and more (TameDamageTakenMultiplier)
- The tribe gets an in-game raid alert (tribe alarm) and a tribe log entry when their base is hit, at most once per 5 min (RaidAlertCooldownSeconds)
Anti-abuse: protection can't start if the base was in combat in the last 30 minutes, so logging off mid-fight doesn't save you.
Ends instantly: protection stops the moment any tribe member logs back in - turret damage and resistances are reverted immediately.
- Works alongside ARK's own PreventOfflinePvP setting.
- Server-restart grace period, so nobody is instantly "offline" after a reboot.
- Solo players get the same protection as tribes.
- Lightweight: one scan every 30 s (about 3-4 ms for 300+ structures).
- Vanilla-safe: it changes numbers on existing turrets, structures and tames and puts them back. No replaced classes, so it stacks with other mods.
What it does not do
- It does not stop damage entirely. Determined raiders can still get in - it just costs a lot more.
- Turret range, targeting and ammo are unchanged; only damage per shot.
- Alliances don't count as "online" for each other.
Admin configuration
Add this block to your server's GameUserSettings.ini and restart. Missing keys use these defaults:
[OfflineRaidProtection]
OfflineDelaySeconds=1800
TurretDamageMultiplier=3.0
StructureDamageTakenMultiplier=0.3333
TameDamageTakenMultiplier=0.5
CaveStructureDamageMultiplier=6.0
RaidAlertCooldownSeconds=300
CombatCooldownSeconds=1800
StructurePollSeconds=30
DebugPrint=False
- OfflineDelaySeconds: how long the whole tribe must be gone (1800 = 30 min).
- TurretDamageMultiplier: 1.0 disables the turret buff.
- StructureDamageTakenMultiplier / TameDamageTakenMultiplier: 1.0 disables; 0.1 = very tanky.
- CombatCooldownSeconds: 0 disables the anti-abuse delay.
- StructurePollSeconds: lower = faster reaction, slightly more CPU.
- DebugPrint=True logs protection changes (leave off in production).
Raid alerts on Discord / phone
The raid alert uses ARK's tribe alarm, so it also goes through the vanilla AlarmPostNotificationURL setting in [ServerSettings]. Point it at a webhook bridge and players get raid alerts outside the game.
Compatibility
- Any map, official or modded.
- Stacks with other structure and turret mods.
- PC dedicated servers and single player. Cross-platform will follow once the PC release is stable.
Please report bugs in the comments with your [OfflineRaidProtection] settings and which map/mods you run.
