Simply equip tools/weapons from your inventory quickly and without using quick slot space, hold F (Consoles L2/LT and Triangle/Y) to bring up the radial wheel. Select the config option to customise your list (reads tools that are currently in your inventory) and change key bindings, leave modifier key blank if you don’t want a second input. Settings carry across servers as there's a save file on the client.
