Description:

Runic Wyverns are enigmatic creatures, boosted by long lost survivor tek that resembles magic! Painted circuitry-like runic designs containing element boosted nanobots make these Wyvern not only vibrant, but stronger & more maneuverable than the ones typically found on Arks! Featuring a higher damage resistance, better melee damage, augmented special attacks & greater maneuverability among other things, these Wyvern are an excellent tame for survivors looking for a robust battle mount able to travel longer distances quickly!

Features:

  • Wyvern Diving- By flying up & then pitching down, survivors are able to enter a dive on their Wyvern, which greatly increases their velocity, allowing large distances to be covered in a short amount of time!
  • Wyvern Barrel Roll- [Elemental Runic Wyvern] By pressing crouch/R3 while flying or in a dive, survivors will be able to perform a Barrel Roll attack, leaving enemies hit by it with a debuff, depending on your Wyvern type! Flame Wyverns will leave a target on fire, Venom Wyverns will apply extra torpor at an increased rate, Spark Wyverns will apply a 4sec stun, & Glacial Wyverns will apply a slow effect!
  • Better Maneuverability- Wyverns are lithe, streamlined creatures & as such, these Wyvern have a tighter turning radius, allowing for better mobility both in the air, in a dive, & on land, including mid-air backup.
  • Vibrant Colors- Dangerous plants & animals are often bright colors to ward off predators or intimidate prey; it's no different with these tyrants of the sky! If you see one of these, be prepared to fight or run! These color sets were hand picked/designed to make beautiful looking wyverns!
  • Particle VFX- All Runic Wyverns have a small amount of sparkling particle effects to give them that extra 'Special' feel!
  • Knock Out Tames- Find an Elemental (Flame, Venom, Glacial or Spark) Runic Wyvern in colors you like? These guys are knock out tames so you can claim your favorite one! (Exceptional Kibble, Raw Prime Meat, or Mutton!)
  • Passive Tames- Find a Runic Quartz, Runic Halo, or Runic Void Wyvern/Runic Matrix in colors you like? These Wyvern are passive tames so you can claim your favorite one! For Quartz: Same tame items as the knock out Elementals. For Halo: Mushrooms, Berries, Seeds & Meat! For Void/Matrix: Runic Override Chip
  • Increased Resilience & Damage- These Wyvern have increased resistance to damage & higher base melee attack, which only increases with careful & nurtured breeding! Imprint buffs on Runic Wyvern give extra boosts to damage resistance & melee attack stats versus Vanilla Wyvern!
  • Enhanced Breath Damage- Boosted by RuneTek™️, these Wyverns attacks have been altered to do more damage once tamed, scale with melee, & have additional effects, plus more for the Runic Crystals (Quartz, Ruby, Emerald & Sapphire)!
  • No Saddle Passenger Seat- Once tamed, you'll be able to have a friend along for a ride!
  • Armor Chip- Small, basic circuitry that can be implanted under your Wyverns' scales & integrates with their RuneTek™️ to add a bit of armor. Can be augmented & upgraded to different quality & armor value, just like saddles (Currently using a secondary mod that can make blueprints. Adding a BP to drops is on my to-do list.)
  • Runic Saddle- You can equip Runic Wyvern with a saddle to let up to THREE of your friends and their shoulder pets ride along with you!
  • Loot- Runic Wyverns drop their equivalent Apex loot drops (Wyvern Talons) & also resources useful to any survivor! On harvest, Flame Wyverns will drop Sulfur, Venom Wyvern drop Rare Flowers, Glacial Wyverns drop Crystal & Spark Wyverns drop Absorbent Substrate! Runic Void Wyverns will also drop RuneTek Shards, which are used to craft more advanced items in the mod!
  • Costumes!- Runic Wyverns have some fun costumes that will change their appearance slightly to be a bit more flashy/unique! Use the Runic Wyvern Shrine for all your costume needs! Costumes are paintable too, including costumes that allow you to change your Wyverns rune colors (Happy 1st Anniversary)!
  • Levels- Since Runic Wyverns are knock out tames, they can spawn near or AT your max dino level for your difficulty setting- NOT ABOVE, like Vanilla Wyverns. Their level brackets are setup to favor the mid to higher end of your max level settings, and they will NOT gain as many additional bonus levels after taming.
  • Wyvern Milk- When knocked out, female Elemental Runic Wyvern will drop 4 Wyvern Milk. Once tamed, they will produce up to 4 milk over time!
  • Runic Essence- Halo (Big and Small), Ghost, & Void/Matrix Runic Wyverns will make Runic Essence in their inventory, which will allow you to craft some other items from the mod! (Transformation Crystals, Boss summons, Augment Chips, etc) Excess Runic Essence can also be collected off of them from the multiuse wheel every so often!
  • Augment Chips- [NEW!] Using RuneTek Shards with other crafting materials, you can now craft a handful of different Augment Chips at the Runic Wyvern Shrine! These upgrade items will allow you to unlock an additional attack on your Elemental Runic Wyvern (Flame, Glacial, Spark & Venom), and also disable the head accessories for the Runic Halo & Runic Void (After install these two will have a toggle you can use to show/hide their halo or antlers)! PLEASE NOTE: For right now/the foreseeable future, these Augment installs are PERMANENT. Use with caution! They CAN NOT BE REMOVED!
  • Bosses!- Currently there are two bosses in the mod (Ancient Runic Ghost Wyvern & Runic Crystal Queen, Bismuth) & at least one more is planned for the future!
  • Runic Crystal Wyvern- These glittering, crystalline Runic Wyvern grow gemstones on their bodies, and are the mods version of the Crystal Wyvern from the original Crystal Isles for ASE! ONLY the Runic Quartz Wyvern spawns in the wild, and is a passive tame. They can be transformed into the other types by feeding them a specially crafted Runic Crystal after taming! Different types have different abilities too!
  • Enhanced Attacks- Runic Wyverns' breath attacks all scale with melee, and their bites have different effects depending on the type of Wyvern:
    • Runic Flame Wyvern has a gash (Allosaurus) on Bite, & Flamebreath
    • Runic Venom Wyvern has a better torpor (Manticore torpor) on Bite, & Poison Spit for ranged
    • Runic Spark Wyvern has a health regen when eating corpses (Argy), & stunning Lightning Beam for ranged
    • Runic Glacial Wyvern has a stamina drain (Bees, Ants), & slowing Frostbreath
    • Runic Ghost Wyvern is the first Boss in the mod! Defeating it will drop a physical item that is a blueprint you can craft at your Runic Wyvern Shrine! Crafting the blueprint will create an item to summon a tamed one! It's bite has the Bloodrage (Charca) effect. When pressing Crouch/R3/RBS it will use Haunting Roar, an ability that will do a small amount of damage, push back, and slow down targets! It's breath attack, Witherflame is a projectile which weakens enemy defenses & burns away at their health. They can also carry players & dinos!
    • Runic Quartz Wyvern has a Windburst breath that pushes back & holds enemies in place for a short time. When pressing Crouch/R3/RBS on the ground, it can fire a projectile which leaves dust in it's wake & spawns a Tornado where it hits, sucking in dinos from a short distance and dealing AoE damage
    • Runic Ruby Wyvern has a Bloodbane breath, which damages enemies & returns that damage as healing to the Ruby Wyvern. When pressing Crouch/R3/RBS on the ground, it can use Sacrifice & loose 20% of it's current health (can't use below 50% health) to gain a large damage boost for 25sec (30sec cooldown)
    • Runic Emerald Wyvern has a Crystal Barrage projectile that pierces armor & does heavy damage to it. When pressing Crouch/R3/RBS on the ground, the Emerald Wyvern will use Shimmering Shell, buffing itself & others around it with a 75% damage reduction for 25sec (30sec cooldown)
    • Runic Sapphire Wyvern has a Hydroblast breath of superheated, corrosive water that damages a percentage of the victims' health & stamina. When pressing Crouch/R3/RBS on the ground, the Sapphire Wyvern will use Deluge, spending some of it's special resource, Stored Water, to heal itself & allies around it for 20sec (30sec cooldown). It also gives the player the Liopleurodon buff, and has water breathing & SWIMS.
    • Runic Halo Wyvern has a Chromatic breath attack that applies a variety of elemental debuffs to targets. On the ground, they also have an AoE attack, Chromatic Burst, that applies a their Chromatic Flame debuff to all enemies inside & near the ring of fire! They can also pick up dinos & players!
    • Runic Halo Lantern Wyvern is a small shoulder pet that acts like an Aberration light pet! These shoulder pets also have Chroma Magic! Activate this buff from their interaction wheel to heal players & dinos around them for a small amount, or drain the food from unconscious wild/unallied dinos! Makes for a great taming helper! (It's a single activation & will do both buffs to their respective targets!)
    • Runic Void Wyvern these are RuneTek™️ based Wyvern & have three abilities! Rightclick/R2 will use it's Plasma breath, Crouch/R3 will use Code Inject to summon two temporary Runic Glitch Wyvern to assist you, and Prone/LB+R3 will shoot a projectile that explodes into a Void Rift, sucking enemy dinos in & damaging them. The Runic Void Wyvern doesn't have a food stat and instead relies on RuneTek Bots to heal! These can be replenished by leaving raw metal in their inventory, which they'll consume & turn into more bots! (You can occasionally find these spawning when The ARK System detects the death of an Elemental Runic Wyvern!)
    • Runic Crystal Queen Wyvern is a multifaceted, shifting Crystal Wyvern Boss. After defeating her, you can find the egg she drops and raise a tamed one for yourself! She has four attacks that can be rotated through using Crouch/LB+R3, and then fired with Altfire/R2/R3. Sunlance, Noxious Breath, Lightning Ball & Ice Beam are all hybrid attacks that have the mechanics of different ranged attacks, but the elemental damage & effects of others! (ie. Sunlance is a beam like the Spark/Lightning Wyvern, but it does fire damage & leaves a burning debuff!)
    • Runic Matrix Wyvern is a very rare, alternate version of the Void Wyvern! These glitched out Wyvern have the same attacks, and eat the same items as the Runic Void Wyvern, but have a unique look, & can come in a variety of bright colors. (Maybe kill some Runic Void Wyvern & see what happens..?)

Follow Up:

This is my first time making any mod where major game mechanics have been altered & my first time working with Unreal Engine. If you find bugs, please feel free to report them, but bear in mind that the more info you give me, the easier it will be for me to pin point what needs to be fixed! That said, I still may need to get help from the Ark modding discord on certain things, so it may take me a while to fix something. Please be patient & check the Trello for updates on what I'm currently doing! I've been working with Unreal Engine now & the Ark devkit specifically for almost 2years & I learn new things every day, so the mod will only keep getting better!
