Winter Magic – Building & Decoration Skin Tilesets
Welcome to Winter Magic, a structure custom cosmetic set designed for those who want to celebrate the winter holidays with feelings of joy, whimsy, and magic. If you’re tired of the standard drab and utilitarian structures that come with Ark, and want to bring in colors and splendor befitting the most magical time of the year, you’ve come to the right place!
The core of this cosmetic set are styles of gingerbread and of ice. It is being continually updated with new ideas and inclusions, as well as improvements to existing features! Check back down the road to see if the additions tickle your fancy!
Organized Tilesets
The mod is organized into two primary structure tilesets with multiple variations for each piece, a seperate tileset for a behemoth gate and door skin, as well as a decorative tileset to use on décor boxes – all designed to bring your dreams of magic to life! These tilesets are designed to keep things organized into fewer individual items, so that you can focus on the joy of design, and not on spending all of your time searching for the right skin for the piece you want to change.
In order to see the variations of each piece once you’ve placed it onto a structure, simply hold your interact button (the button used to open doors or turn machinery on) on the skinned piece, and select the “Skin Settings” option, which can include multiple variants of that piece, as well as the ability to potentially flip or rotate the pieces!
How To Use The Tilesets
- Go to your Custom Cosmetic tab within your inventory, and go to “Apply Cosmetics”
- Locate the Winter Magic folder, which will contain the tilesets. If you do not see the folder, you may need to have your character killed and respawn
- Drag your chosen tileset on to your hotbar in any location, and press that hotkey to go into the skinning mode
- Apply your skins to structures, machinery, or décor boxes. Mix and match between styles to create the most festive base! ⚠️ Note: This is a cosmetic-only mod. It doesn’t add any new engrams or buildable structures, and is fully compatible with existing saves and servers.
Tileset – Gingerbread
The largest tileset with the majority of common structure pieces and some machinery, including numerous variations of each type. Small décor boxes also include some cookie-themed lit trees! There is currently a skin for the fabricator, chemistry bench, and mortar and pestle. More meshes for the workshop are being polished and will roll out over the coming two weeks.
Tileset – Gingerbread Behemoth Gate
A seperate tileset specifically for behemoth gates only, which is styled as an intricate gingerbread and candy sculpture!
Tileset – Ice Palace
The second large structure tileset, which includes structure pieces resembling a mystical ice palace! Live your frozen dream!
Tileset – Dino Props
A tileset in the gingerbread style which applies to décor boxes. This tileset includes many standing gingerbread decorations in the shapes of cute dinos!
