[T.A.C./DETV] Dzungariotherium

Dzungariotherium

Introducing the Chinese Paraceratherium, Dzungariotherium!

MOD ID: 1288255

This grand and powerful prehistoric mammal will provide survivors with a naturally sturdy herbivore, capable of delivering powerful blows with an intimidating presence. Its main utility allows Dzungariotherium to be a mobile tank, able to not only withstand punishing attacks, but to encourage it with its taunts! Dzung also sports an array of naturally spawning cosmetic variants, functional saddles, and a fearsome Alpha threat, with more plans for the future.

This creature was made in collaboration with Tristan, Rebecca "DarkEdgeTV", Clay, Vicar and Mordekaiser

🟢TAMING & ABILITIES🟢

Dzungariotherium are cannon-knockout tames! However they can be hit ANYWHERE on their bodies, not just their heads.
Their food preference is Superior Kibble > Crops > Mejoberries > Other Berries
A full list of their abilities and keybinds can be viewed with the in-game HUD Helper

Aside from its regular multi-directional attacks and cosmetic roar, Dzungatherium can also perform a Mega Stomp for large damage, a Taunt to entice enemies to attack it while gaining a 10% damage boost, and a Block Stance that reduces incoming damage by 60%, but can not move or attack while blocking. Dzungatherium itself also sports Thick Skin, causing it to permanently take 15% less incoming damage, and be immune to bleeding effects.

This mod was the focus of a 30-Day Challenge, where we tasked ourselves with producing an entire creature within 1 month. As of release, our Dzungatherium has a large array of attacks, 3x cosmetic variants, 3x different saddles, and an Alpha Variant. While the challenge is complete and we're no longer speedrunning, we may add more content to this mod over-time in the future, such as an Elder(boss) Dzung, more cosmetic variants, and some touch-ups to the visual quality of the creature and saddle assets.

Tristan produced all animations, creature retopology, mesh UVs, devkit programming and implementation, and modelled/textured the armored saddle
Rebecca designed and modelled the Dzungatherium creature and alpha models, painted the Standard and Alpha variants, modelled/textured the standard and platform saddles, took gallery screenshots, and made the HUD Icon
Clay touched up all of the textures to improve in-game fidelity and feel, and also designed the Scorched and Aberrant variants
Vicar designed the standard and armored saddle concepts, and created all of the custom 2D icons
Mordekaiser produced all audio cues for the Dzung, including alternating variants and impact sounds within just 3 days
