A dream lingers, half-remembered, in the eyes of a child — a fleeting memory of a videotape revealing images that stir a sense of wonder. If such dreams held answers, they remain undiscovered, yet there’s a reason this is noted: Plateosaurus seems bound to that feeling, a linking mystery to the primal nature of this land.

In the wild, Plateosaurus is a sizable herbivorous dinosaur, well-adapted to the jungles it calls home. With a calm yet defensive nature, it stands ready to protect its herd from predators. Its powerful hind legs allow it to adopt a semi-bipedal stance, enabling it to reach for the ripest fruits nestled high in the trees. Despite its gentle demeanor, Plateosaurus exhibits an air of tension, as if haunted by a persistent, ancestral fear. Tyrannotitans, perhaps, are to blame; Plateosaurus is a favored prey of these gigantic carnivores, but something more elusive seems to haunt it, whispering a threat that lurks beyond sight.

Plateosaurus herds are common across various biomes due to their erratic migratory habits and adaptability. With an impressive resilience to shifting environments, they can forage nearly anywhere, driven by their survival instincts to evade predators and sustain their kin.

Domesticated

Efforts to tame Plateosaurus by hand-feeding it flowers yielded little success. Attempts to coax it closer proved futile, as the creature seemed to disregard any offerings. The strategy had to shift, and tranquilizer darts became the only viable option. However, this action triggered a chaotic stampede, with the entire herd bellowing and charging in a frantic search for safety.

Ultimately, taming three Plateosaurus individuals proved to be invaluable. Their ability to switch between bipedal and quadrupedal movement enhances their stamina and endurance, making them ideal for transporting heavy loads over long distances without tiring. Their bipedal stance allows them to access otherwise unreachable fruits, while their quadrupedal gait enables near-limitless stamina for extended journeys. Although Plateosaurus is ill-suited for combat due to its vulnerable neck, it excels in labor, making it a critical asset for survival in this unforgiving landscape.

Ecosystem Footprint

The Plateosaurus' migratory habits reveal much about its role in the ecosystem. During the mating season, these herds favor redwood forests, where they create nesting grounds by clearing smaller trees, allowing sunlight to reach the forest floor and encouraging plant diversity. In the jungles, Plateosaurus feeds to its limits, often regurgitating surplus food and inadvertently dispersing seeds that sustain the ecosystem and feed carrion eaters.

In the rugged mountains, Plateosaurus displays its more assertive side. Herd leaders engage in dominance displays, competing for mates and the loyalty of followers. This adaptability in behavior and habitat grants Plateosaurus a unique role: it curtails the overgrowth of vegetation, fosters seed dispersal, and even provides a rare feast for the land's larger carnivores. Perfectly attuned to its environment, Plateosaurus contributes to a balanced ecosystem through its dynamic migration and foraging habits.

Adds creatures:

Plateosaurus

Habitat Spawn: Can be found primarily on Redwoods, Mountains, Jungles and Grasslands;
Global Spawn: Can include juveniles;
Personal Proporsal: This creature is dedicated to The Center map. My Personal proporsal is to override Brontosaurus spawns with Plateosaurus spawns in the relevant Game.ini files, and disabling its spawns in other maps (Otherwise, enjoy it!);
Model Design: Model was imported from a different Open Source project (Details provided in the Notes Section). It shares similarities with the [base] Iguanodon's model, was slightly edited in Blender and scaled to Diplodocus Height. Males and Females also support different types of colors;
Taming Requirements: Traditional K.O. tame, prefering Exceptional Kibble as food;
Intended Design: It is a "Pack" creature. When 3 Plateosaurus are within range, the strongest will become the Herd Leader, the effect only provides a reduction to damage received (-25%). It also halves the weight of berries and vegetables.
Range of Definitions: Shares stat, growth and taming affinity similarities with the Brontosaurus, with some unique stat exceptions.

Aberrant Plateosaurus

Habitat Spawn: Can be found primarily on Redwoods, Mountains, Jungles and Grasslands (Primarily, dedicated to Valguero - If and when it is released.);
Global Spawn: Currently not spawning. Potential to include on Aberration for a limited time - Up for debate.
Personal Proporsal: This creature is dedicated to Valguero map. My Personal proporsal is to override Brontosaurus and Plateosaurus spawns with Aberrant Plateosaurus spawns in the relevant Game.ini files, and disabling its spawns in other maps (Otherwise, enjoy it!);
Model Design: Same as its counterpart, though expressing the Aberrant Iguanodon Textures - It is shiny;
Range of Definitions: Reflects the stat rules of Aberrant Creatures.

Note 8. This creature was developed differently from its original source, with intent to be creative and distinct from its source material - The sole objective was providing a unique adventure, based on a personal vision and not emulating an existing experience.
Note 9. This creature was envisioned and even included on the roadmap of [00_PTZ] Ark Re-Evolution, Ark: Survival Evolved. It did received some attention, although it was left largely incomplete. This project was a recovery endeavor of both past efforts and an inspirational, creative transformation - Thanks to the source creator, one of my favorite dinosaurs has a place in Ark: Survival Ascended;
Note 10. It was ported into Ark: Survival Ascended, being adapted using the [base] Iguanodon animations and other related configurations as a baseline. The simplicity is what allowed the mod to reach the current status.
Note 11. Sounds were changed, featuring low pitched sounds using [base] Iguanodon's sounds as a baseline;
Note 12. The Plateosaurus was made with intent in being exclusive to both The Center (Base counterpart) and Valguero (Aberrant Variant);
