Wild:

Though it resembles a familiar ostrich, this species stands apart, distinguishable by its robust size and unique feather highlights. The ostrich is a common sight in the grasslands, darting through open fields, yet its presence is often fleeting as predators lurk, ready to hunt.

Observations suggest that the ostrich, despite its size, occupies a precarious position in the food chain, often seen roaming open areas away from the safety of forests and jungles. Yet, there’s a peculiar charm to its behavior: when undisturbed, male ostriches engage in elaborate dances, shuffling feathers, kicking the ground, and even headbanging as if lost in the rhythm of an unseen melody. This spectacle forms a part of their mating ritual, though it often invites misfortune rather than success.

Ostriches are social creatures, typically forming groups of varying ages that roam together through the grasslands in search of berries and other forage. When different groups encounter each other, they consolidate into larger formations, continuing their daily pursuits. However, this cooperative behavior is frequently interrupted by predators, who disrupt the collective, scattering individuals across the landscape. Yet, these groups invariably reunite later, restoring their social bonds.

Domesticated:

Ostriches possess a generally passive demeanor, reacting only when threatened. When scared, they can bolt at incredible speeds, racing away until they lose sight of the perceived danger. This flight response complicates efforts to pacify them, but their gullibility aids in the process; a handful of berries is often enough to entice them into a pen.

Occasionally, peculiar golden eggs appear in the pen, their origins a mystery. These eggs are a delicacy and have proven to be invaluable for training and calming even the most combative individuals.

Recently, curiosity has arisen as one of the golden eggs hatched into a unique type of ostrich. While it shares traits with its kin, this creature radiates a gentle yet hyperactive golden aura, creating a delightful commotion in its surroundings. It sparks wonder about its future development as it matures.

Ecosystem Footprint:

Undoubtedly, ostriches serve as a keystone species within the grasslands. Their foraging habits, dense populations, and survival strategies contribute significantly to the health of the ecosystem. By dispersing seeds as they roam, ostriches foster vegetation growth, and even when consumed by predators, their remains nourish the flora, ensuring regrowth.

Remarkably, despite heavy hunting pressures, ostrich populations maintain a stable equilibrium, neither declining nor increasing beyond a threshold. This balance showcases a well-adapted community that enriches the grasslands while satisfying the needs of numerous carnivores that depend on them. The dynamic interplay between ostriches and their predators illustrates a complex relationship vital to the ecosystem's health and vitality.

• Habitat Spawn: Commonly found on the Grasslands and Green Desert (In groups up to 5 individuals, including babies);
• Males and Females have similar, albeit different Models;
• Passively tamed, prefering Regular Kibble as food;
• Only males support saddle and can be ridden (With/Without Saddle);
• Males can boost Egg production of females when wandering (Ostrich/Chocobo exclusive);
• Mate Boosted Ostriches have a 90% chance to drop a [Normal] Egg and 10% chance for a [Gold] Egg;
• Breeding Ostriches can result in a 90% chance for a Fertilized [Normal] Egg, which can be hatched for an Infant Ostrich, and 10% chance for a Fertilized [Gold] Egg, which can be hatched into the mysterious, Chocobo.

Chocobo

• [Fostered Specimen]: Only obtained by breeding Ostriches and hatching the Fertilized Gold Ostrich Eggs;
• Shares many similarities with the [regular] Ostrich;
• Increased Health, Stamina, Torpor, Food and Weight stats by 20%;
• While riding, movement speed and rotation rate is slightly better, when compared to riding an Ostrich;
• Only males support Saddle and can be ridden (With/Without Saddle);
• Untested: Only Males can equip/use the Cart from Bob's tall tales "expansion";
• Males can boost Egg production of females when wandering (Ostrich/Chocobo exclusive);
• Mate Boosted Ostriches have a 80% chance to drop a [Normal] Egg and 20% chance for a [Gold] Egg;
• Breeding Chocobo can result in a 80% chance for a Fertilized [Normal] Egg and 20% chance for a Fertilized [Gold] Egg - both can be hatched into a Chocobo.
